MAY’S Beau Journal Entry & Reveal- THE SEVENTH RETURNS

I returned tonight, as I said I would. The watch was not where I had left it, in its place, I found another, not mine. The design was unfamiliar. I have never seen anything like it, the parts, the movement… it feels beyond anything I know. It did not belong to me. Nor, I think, to this room.

There was a letter beside it. Her hand. She wrote very little. Only that I should keep what had been left, and at the end-I will see you when the seventh returns. I have turned that line over more than once. The seventh of what, I cannot say. A day, perhaps.? An hour? Or something else entirely.

As I was leaving, I noticed a key beside the cabinet where the knives are kept. I had never seen it there before. I assumed it belonged to one of the rooms above, misplaced, I brought it to the bar. The leather on it read: “RETURN.” The bartender looked at it briefly, then back at me. Told me they only have six rooms, always have. He called out to the room, asked if anyone had lost a key. No one answered, no one claimed it. He left it with me, and now I find myself holding a key that does not belong to anything I can account for. If it does not belong to any room here…then perhaps it belongs to somewhere else entirely.

Tonight, it is not the watch I keep thinking of, nor the key. Although, the watch and the key are curious. She is something else entirely.

FIRST CLUE: There are those that stay and one that returns. Find what stays first. Only then will you know what has returned. The next clue waits with the six, where the lion keeps watch. The second clue awaits at this location…

CLUE TWO: You’ve found what stays. Now find what doesn’t. Find the seventh key. Where does the seventh return? It waits where the knives are kept.

Next to the final clue, another letter from Esther awaits- Beau, I knew you would find it. There is a door you haven’t opened yet. This will open it. I will see you there. L, E

With this letter is a key, next month, you’ll use this key. The door will be waiting.
