At The House of Beau, we’ve always believed stories are meant to be experienced, not just told. From hidden journals and mysterious clues to evenings filled with music, conversation, and discovery, every corner of the House has been quietly preparing for something much larger.
Now, we’re opening the next chapter.
Introducing The Threshold- an original immersive theatre experience where every guest becomes part of the mystery.
Unlike a traditional play, there is no stage. There are no assigned seats. Guests will move throughout the House, interact with characters, uncover clues, and piece together a story filled with secrets, suspense, and unexpected twists. Every performance will feel a little different because every guest experiences the story from a unique perspective.
The story begins in May 1920.
Beau has recently inherited a beautiful European bar after the sudden death of his dear friend, Elias Whitmore. The evening begins as a celebration with music, conversation, and flowing wine. But strange things begin happening. An old clock that has never worked suddenly matters. A mysterious woman appears to some guests, but not to others. Then an impossible newspaper arrives from the future, foretelling the murder of the House’s beloved bartender, Benny.
Moments later…
The lights go out.
A scream echoes through the House.
Nothing will ever be the same.
To bring this world to life, we’re looking for talented performers who love storytelling, improvisation, and creating unforgettable experiences. Whether you’re an experienced stage actor, an improv performer, or someone who simply enjoys staying in character and captivating a room, we’d love to hear from you.

Each character has their own history, motivations, and secrets. Together, they’ll create an evening where guests won’t simply watch a mystery, they’ll live it.
The Threshold is only the beginning. This production is the first chapter in an original story that will continue to unfold through future immersive events at The House of Beau. Returning guests will discover new clues, new characters, and new mysteries as the mythology of the House continues to grow.
It’s theatre.
It’s storytelling.
It’s history.
It’s mystery.
And it’s unlike anything else in Santa Barbara.
